Our church will sponsor a food booth at Jefferson Hills Community
Day
next Saturday, August 8. Stop by to say hello and share in some
good food.
Our accompanist, Ralph, will be leaving us. A farewell reception
will be held
in his honor on Sunday, August 16 directly following Worship.
Ralph's last
Sunday with us will be August 23. Our Congregation extends a good
luck
wish to him in his future endeavors.
In
an effort to increase income and promote recycling, our church is
participating
in the Abitibi paper recycling project. You may place newspapers,
magazines,
office and school papers, shopping catalogues or unwanted mail in the
green and
yellow receptacle. (no cardboard boxes). Thank you for your
support.
The 2009 Flower Calendar is posted on the bulletin board in the
downstairs
hallway. Please sign up if you have interest in altar flowers by
noting on the
calendar how you would like the bulletin announcement to read. If
you have
a special request, such as color or flower preference, please note that
as well
and we will do our best to convey that to the florist. The cost
of flowers for
2009 remains $15. Please call Angel Minda at 412-384-4667 if you
have
any questions.
Bricks for the Memorial Garden are back ordered. Melanie Colosimo
is
coordinating this project. Any questions may
be directed to her.
The
churches in our area have
joined together and implemented the West
Jefferson
Hills Ministerium. Our 1st event was a back-to-school
"Service of
Blessing" at
the high
school. We look forward to future
ecumenical events.
A
reminder to request paper bags instead of plastic to assist the
Cloverleaf
Food Bank with
their need.
The Food Bank serves 135 families
totaling 316
individuals
and generally provides at least 2 bags per family. You may place
your bags and food
in the
baskets in the Narthex.
Anyone wishing to add
something to the
church bulletin board may e-mail information to Maureen Edinger at
JUPC or call
412-655-2731 and leave your message on the answering machine.
