The Choice
After 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, the Hebrew people finally crossed the Jordan River to settle in the Promised Land. Now, their leader Joshua gathered them at the ancient site of Shechem, where God first spoke that promise to Father Abraham. Would they live as God’s covenant people in the Promised Land?
Join us on Sunday as we consider Joshua’s challenge to the Hebrew people, and to us: “Choose this day whom you will serve…. As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 3:15). Our Scripture passages will be Matthew 6:19-21, 24 and Joshua 24:1-3, 14-18. We will also welcome children for Children’s Worship. Please join us in the sanctuary or online. Our service will be live-streamed at 11:00 a.m. on the Jefferson United Presbyterian Church YouTube Channel and available any time afterward.
