(A Series on Mission from the Book of Acts)
May 5, 2024

“You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

With these words, Jesus entrusted his ministry to his disciples, and those who had been called to follow and learn as students became apostles, sent out to do the work Jesus had called them to do.

Throughout these Sundays of the season between Easter and Pentecost, we’ll see the apostles expand their witness from their immediate community, to the wider community, to their entire region, and all the way to the ends of the earth. And we’ll consider how we at JUPC are called to do the same!

We started the series considering our witness to one another within our own church community, including those who cannot be with us on a regular basis. Last Sunday, we expanded our focus to include those in the surrounding community. And this Sunday, we’ll explore our call to cross boundaries, building relationships and sharing the Good News with those whom we might least expect! Our Scripture passage will be Acts 10:23-48. We will also hear about an opportunity to build relationships with neighbors in Clairton through JUPC’s partnership with the Clairton CommUNITY Garden.  And we’ll celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper!

Please join us in the sanctuary or online. The service will be live-streamed at 11:00 on the Jefferson United Presbyterian Church YouTube Channel and available any time afterward.
