Fall Sermon Series on the Book of James

Martin Luther hated the Book of James. Far too many rules, he thought, and not nearly enough grace! The name of Jesus is barely mentioned, let alone his saving death on the Cross. Where, Luther asked, is the Gospel in that?

But of course, James isn’t writing a Gospel to introduce people to Jesus. He’s writing a letter to his brothers and sisters in Christ, to people who already know Jesus. He’s not writing to inspire people to faith.  He’s writing to inspire faithful living in the family of faith!

Throughout the month of September, we’ll be exploring life lessons from the Book of James. Join us each Sunday as we focus on a key verse and its implications for living a life of faith! Please join us in the sanctuary or online. The service will be live-streamed at 11:00 on the Jefferson United Presbyterian Church YouTube Channel and available any time afterward.
